About us

History

The company KUHNE electronic e. K. was founded on December 1st 1994 by Jutta and Michael Kuhne. Some years later, the company changed to the KUHNE electronic GmbH.

At the beginning, high quality modules for microwave amateur radio were developed and produced with a small crew. Within a few years, the amount of products for commercial use increased up to 85 percent of the total production. That increase could only be managed by permanent expansion of the company and by moving to the new company building in Berg.

Due to the company's excellent business situation, a second building was put up in the year 2007. Now, the company has a total production area of more than 1100 square meters. 

Company Profile

We develop, produce and sell RF and microwave modules and devices in the frequency range from 100 MHz to 50 GHz.

Our products range from power amplifiers and low noise preamplifiers to down converters and up converters, transverters, oscillators and transmitters for special applications.

Our customers are companies in more than 70 countries all over the world. They are active in the areas Telecommunications, Aerospace, Media and Broadcast. KUHNE electronic currently achieves an amount of export of more than 75 percent. Furthermore, we supply universities and research institutes with laboratory measurement equipment and special devices for research and development. Other customers are the government, public authorities and security services.

Globally, we serve our customers directly, without going through distributors. This allows us to guarantee optimal service and implement affordable customized solutions.

Development - Construction - Production

The whole company, including development, construction and production, is located in Berg, Germany. This leads to high flexibility as well as fast and inexpensive development and delivery of customer defined products. Due to strict quality control, all products of KUHNE electronic achieve highest reliability.

Our modern laboratory provides measurement equipment up to high frequencies in the gigahertz range.

The laboratory is continually improved and enlarged with new measurement equipment. The latest CAD software is used for simulation, development and construction.

For manufacturing the RF and microwave devices, a reflow soldering machine, a pick and place machine and tools for milling and die/wire bonding are available. Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for prototypes and small series are manufactured in our own etching plant.
