MKU PA 131000 CU

Linear High Power Amplifier for the 1.3 GHz band

1280 ... 1300 MHz • 1000 W

This linear high power amplifier was developed for producing high frequency energy for accelerators applications. High power, high efficiency and best linearity are achieved by our high power amplifier for the 23 cm amateur radio band. In comparison to tube power amplifiers, the used LDMOS transistors operate with a supply voltage of only +50 V DC. High voltage transformers, waiting for tube warm-up and retuning of the tube are the past! The amplifier can be mounted near the antenna to avoid power loss caused by long coaxial cable.

Safe operation is guaranteed by the internal overheat protection. The built-in sequencer can be used to control other devices like preamplifiers or coaxial relays. An output power of 2 kW is achieved by combining two MKU PA 131000 CU amplifiers. This is ideal for EME (earth-moon-earth operation)!

Application

Features

  • LD MOSFET technology
  • Monitor output for forward power detection (DC voltage)
  • ON / OFF control with DC voltage

Applications

  • Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Service (MMDS)
  • Analog and digital transmission systems

Options

  • Amplifier mounted on heat sink with fans
  • Amplifier mounted on a liquid cool plate
  • Amplifier installed into 19" rackmount case
  • High linear version "Class A" on request

Accessories

We explicit point out that the recommended combination of heat sink and fan is not dimensioned for constant full output power of the power amplifier. The duty-cycle should not exceed 50% (1min transmitting / 1min receiving (WSJT)).

Attention: The recommended fans need a supply voltage of 24 ... 28 V DC.

As an alternative to our high power heat sinks we can offer a liquid cool plate.

You will find further information for dimensioning heat sinks under the rubric heat sinks.

1) Dimensioned for 25 °C ambient temperature

Important note

  • Module does not contain coaxial relay!
